Gelynda T. Capel Scholarship Endowment

The endowment had its beginnings as a Christmas gift. In support of the newly-formed Montgomery County chapter of the North Carolina Community Foundation, Mrs. Gelynda Capel asked for a contribution to the charitable organization as a gift from her husband, Arron. This act of Christmas generosity, and subsequent contributions led to an endowed account with the Community Foundation. This scholarship is funded from that endowment.
